Life’s Challenges

John Demartini, DC, an American researcher, author, educator and public speaker in human behavior, founded the Demartini Institute and has trademarked methodologies in human development. The two most significant are the Demartini Method and the Demartini Value Determination Process and the applications of these processes in the seven areas of life – Family, Financial, Mental, Physical, Social, Spiritual and Vocational.

Demartini, states that support plus challenges equals the best formula for growth.

Pause and consider your life-where are your challenges and what is the support you give Your Self? Know that life takes care of the challenges and it is up to you to take care of the support. This does not mean life is not providing support. It means, however, it is up to you to Look, Listen, Appreciate and Trust that support is available within. You can draw from Your Self the kind of support that will assist you best.

You need to draw support to not only meet, but surmount the challenges. That is how you grow.

Sometimes support is found by amplifying the support you give others, or by the way you appreciate the support that is in your environment.

Support plus challenges equals the best formula for growth. All of life is inviting you to grow, grow, and grow as you navigate the vicissitudes of life. It is the resistance of supporting Your Self through the challenges that creates stress, tension, fear and unhappiness.

You are the creator of your life – Give Your Self the gift of support and grow through the challenges.

How to Have a Direct Communication With God

I was very excited when I became a dream expert after precisely following Carl Jung's steps. This happened in the end of 1988, when I was writing my personal conclusions in my first scientific book. I was writing it to prove to the world that only Carl Jung could discover the real meaning of the symbolic dream language and the healing power of dreams.

I had discovered a code, which helped me have a direct communication with the unconscious mind that produces our dreams. This code was the result of abbreviations of religious messages found in the book of a Brazilian spiritual guide. I'm Brazilian, even though I live in Greece because my family is Greek and we had no safety in my country.

I had a small notebook with codes taken from the spiritual guide's book, and I could directly talk with the unconscious mind thanks to these codes, including being able to clearly understand the unconscious messages in dreams. The unconscious mind started telling me that He was desperate because nobody believes in God and nobody believes in the power of goodness.

Goodness is very powerful, but very difficult to be understood and implemented. We can not understand its real meaning. This happens because we inherit a satanic conscience, the anti-conscience, which is a true demon.

Our human conscience is only a spot. The largest part of our brain belongs to our anti-conscience. Therefore, we are basically evil. We can not understand the real importance of goodness because of our wild nature.

This means that we are under-developed primates. We are wild animals that can think, but have no human feelings. Our feelings are wonderful. Our tiny human conscience is the only part of our brain that has human characteristics.

The communication I had with God through codes was too deficient in the beginning of our conversations. I spent hours trying to understand the meaning of one simple sentence.

This was very tiring and boring, but I had to find out the meaning of the unconscious words. This was the only way I could clearly understand the unconscious messages. The unconscious mind was trying to tell me something, and it was important to have this communication. I understood its importance, including all the difficulties I had to deal with. My dreams completed the messages I had thanks to the codes.

I had the privilege to have a direct contact with the unconscious mind. I felt so important!

I believed that God would help me prove to the world everything I had discovered, even though I knew that everything seemed to be hard to believe. I could not imagine that God would tell me to help Him prove many things to the world, because He was not able to convince the world alone.

My son was almost four-years-old. I had the chance to stay at home with him for hours, so I could study and persist on my studies. I'm a good student by nature. This was my salvation, even though I was so ignorant.

In the beginning of my conversations with God, I made many silly questions. I was indiscriment and insensitive.

I was excited because I had discovered something that was working. I could really understand the unconscious words. They were very strange. I had confirmations in dreams. The unconscious mind gradually showed me that it was in fact God's mind.

God was always sad. At a certain point I understood that I should pay attention to His pain, and I stopped making silly questions. Then, I finally had the right attitude. I understood that I had to respect God's sanctity and wisdom.

I also understood how painful it was for God to save the human race from so many horrors. God deals with severe mental illnesses everyday. I had to help Him save humanity from craziness, terrorism, and despair. This was what God was trying to tell me from the beginning of our communication.

Carl Jung was only a scientist. I had to become a scientist to understand his work and continue his research, but I also was a writer writer who had studied in a Catholic school during twelve years. I had to show to the world that God must be respected.

The world must understand that the unconscious mind works like a natural psychotherapist because this is necessary. However, we can not consider the unconscious mind as if it was a free automatic organ, which helps us survive like our stomach. God must be repected because of His perfection.

How To Get To Sleep – Meditation Techniques For Sleep

One in every three people will suffer from insomnia in their lifetime. On a whole, we sleep 20% less now than we did a hundred years ago. Over ten million Americans take prescription medication to help them get to sleep. Clearly, these facts are alarming.

Of all the causes of insomnia, stress is number one. Put in demanding position at work, we all come to suffer from stress at one time or another. Our stress keeps us from a good night's sleep, leading to increased stress and fatigue which then makes us less effective in our jobs, creating more stress and yet less sleep. It is a continuing cycle that needs to stop if we are to live healthy, happy and successful lives.

While most in the West turn to medication to solve the problem, there is a much healthier, more effective and cheaper solution: meditation.

Meditation has been proven to offer numerous important, life changing benefits to the practitioner. Meditation improves health, eliminates stress, promotes happiness and helps us get to sleep at night.

Using these four meditation techniques, you will find the answer to curing insomnia, helping you become more effective at work, less stressed, happier and healthier.

Meditation for Sleep Technique 1: Mindfulness

The primary cause of insomnia is stress. Stress prevents us from calming our minds and letting go of thoughts, so preventing ourselves from sleeping. To cure this wide spread problem, practice mindfulness meditation.

When you go to sleep, simply focus your mind on your breath as it enters and leaves through your nose. Do not try to control your breath, simply observe it. As you do so, you will become more aware of the thoughts you are experiencing. Simply observe these thoughts-do not question them, do not focus on them, just be aware, then return to focusing on your breath.

This simple meditation technique will calm your mind by releasing your thoughts, so allowing you to get to sleep.

Meditation Technique for Sleep # 2: Abdominal Breathing

When we breathe lowly, we introduce tension and stress into our bodies. Breathing properly and deeply, conversely, helps our body and mind to relax.

Through the day, when you have a few few minutes, meditate on the sensation of your breathing entering deep into your body, down to your abdomen. Be aware of air filling your whole body. This promotes correct breathing, which naturally calms and relaxes. Do this a few times a day and you will be relaxed when you go to bed.

Meditation Technique for Sleep # 3: Yoga

Not only is yoga fantastic exercise, but it also relaxed both body and mind. Do not worry, either; you certainly do not need to be a yogi to take advantage of yoga. All you need to do is a few basic stretches, just to get your body moving in a relaxed way. Try some very simple stretches while focussing on your breath. This will release muscle tension, create a relaxed body. A relaxed body creates a relaxed mind, and a relaxed mind promotes good sleep.

Meditation Technique for Sleep # 4: Guided Meditation

There are many great guided meditation audio tracks available online. These guided meditations are designed to take you on a relaxing journey. Some will have you visiting a relaxing beach, others floating above the stars. All will relax you and help you get to sleep. Try downloading a guided meditation and playing it before bed. That way, you'll be utter relaxed when you hit the sack.

These four meditation techniques will create complete relaxation, cure insomnia and allow you to get a pleasant night's sleep. p.

There are over a hundred different benefits offered through the practice of meditation. Many of them refer to health and to curing illnesses. Of the many physical and mental health benefits offered by meditation, some of the most important include: helping with high blood pressure, curing addictions, helping avoid and fight heart disease, slowing the aging process and producing more antibodies. This, of course, if in addition to the fact that meditation produces inner calm and helps eliminate the many symptoms associate with stress.

Another great benefit of meditation over medication is the fact that by meditating we empower ourselves to handle health issues in a natural manner, where medication makes us dependent on substances.

By following the instructions in this guide to healing meditation, you will empower yourself to handle health issues in a positive, lasting and natural way.

How to perform a healing meditation

To begin with, it is important to go somewhere quiet where you will not be disturbed for at least twenty minutes. The area should be comfortable and make you feel relaxed. Dim lights if necessary, open windows, create the perfect environment for relaxation.

Sit comfortably, using a pillow if need be. Aim to sit with good posture, keeping your spelling in alignment. Allow yourself to sit still for a few moments and to become comfortable and relaxed before continuing with this healing meditation.

Close your eyes and continue to relax. If any thoughts or feelings arise, acknowledge them but continue to relax.

Start to breathe through your nostrils. Take a deep breath in, hold for a few seconds, then exhale slowly and comfortably. Focus your attention on your breathing. If you find it difficult to focus on your breathing alone, try reciting a mantra. A good example of a healing mantra would be: “I am comfortable and relaxed and feel calm through my body and mind.” Repeat this phrase to yourself, focusing on the words, or continue to focus on your breath, which you prefer.

Should you find thoughts distracting you, acknowledge them but do not dwell on them. Simply observe the thought entering your mind then leaving, then return your focus to your breath.

Continue to meditate on your breath, allowing feelings and thoughts to dissipate as you gradually become more and more relaxed. This process of relaxation is great for body and mind. It gives you the opportunity to unwind and to relieve stress and tension.

Simply continue to focus on your breath in this way for however much time you have set aside for your meditation. Then, when you are ready, gradually open your eyes and return to normal.

After performing this meditation for twenty minutes you will feel much more relaxed. Relaxation is of the utmost importance to well being. Relaxation gives your body and mind the opportunity to release stress and tension and to return to normal.

Practice this meditation once or twice a day for twenty minutes at a time. It is the perfect way to give yourself the peace and inner calm you need to promote well being.

How To Relieve Work-Related Stress By Using Breath-Based Meditation

77% of people suffer from the physical symptoms of stress. Of those 77%, 48% say their stress adversely affects their personal and professional life. And of all the leading causes of stress, work is statistically shown to be number one.

In a world that revolves around work and work that almost unanimously involves stress, what hope is there of us ever leading happy, relaxed lives?

Perhaps it's no surprise that 13% of Americans are on stress relief medications. If only they knew about the power of meditation.

Meditation has been proven to be of immunity benefit to both mental and physical health and is proven to be the most effective natural form of stress relief in the world. Best of all, meditation is easy and free.

By practicing the following breath-based meditation, you will empower yourself to let go of stress while greatly boosting your physical and mental health.

What is breath-based meditation?

The most popular form of meditation involves focusing on your breath. This is precisely what it sounds like: you simply focus 100% of your attention on your breath. By doing so, you bring yourself back into the present moment, releasing any thoughts and stresses that you may have.

How to do a breath based meditation

It is easy to begin to use breathing-based meditations. To do so, simply follow these instructions.

1. Find somewhere quiet and relaxing where you can sit for up to twenty minutes without being disturbed.

2. Make yourself comfortable in a sitting position. Although some meditation practices advocate the use of specific seating positions, for our purposes it is enough to be sitting however you feel comfortable, provided you sit in a way that does not lead to fidgeting.

3. Close your eyes and begin to focus on your breath. Focus your mind on the sensation of your breath entering and leaving through your nose. At first, you may not notice these sensations very much, but after a few minutes you will become more aware of the feeling of breathing.

4. Continue to focus on your breath. If you find it hard to concentrate, try counting your breaths. To begin, count an investigation as one, then exhalation as two, intervention three and so on.

5. As you continue to focus on your breath you will notice thoughts entering your mind. Some of these thoughts will be good, some bad, some relaxing, some stressful. Regardless of the type of thought, however, do not focus on it. Make sure to keep your attention locked on your breath.

6. As a final note, when meditating it is very common to experience a thought along the lines of “I do not have time for this.” This is a stress thought. If you experience it, briefly remind yourself of why you are meditating and then return your focus to your breath.

7. When you feel ready, open your eyes. Pay attention to the new sense of calm that permeates your body and mind. You will feel differently to before. This is good. It shows the meditation is working. By remembering this feeling of inner calm you will be more likely to experience it more often.

This is one of many types of meditation techniques that you can use quickly and freely to promote inner calm. It will improve both mental and physical health and even make you more effective thanks to improved concentration and clarity of thought. This means that, even though you may have spent twenty minutes meditating, you will more than make up for your time thanks to your improved effectiveness.

Waiting for the Pot to Boil

Heard the expression, “A watched pot never boils?”

Have you ever hovered over a pot on the stove and waited for the water to boil? It takes time, and somehow the time seems to stretch out even farther when you're waiting for the change to happen.

You do not see anything at first, and then you slowly feel the pot physically warming up. After a little while, tiny bubbles start to form at the pot's base. Occasionally, these tiny bubbles start chasing each other up to the water's surface. The bubbles start to dance faster and faster, until you see larger bubbles forming. Finally after about five to ten minutes, the water shows a rolling boil. Phew!

This event can be fun to watch once in a blue moon, if you have the patience for it. But what if you were to cover the pot, turn your back on it and do something else for five to ten minutes, and then return to it once it's boiling – without ever having watched all the steps in between?

Sometimes, with the changes we want to see with our health or with life in general, it can be tempting to hover over ourselves and wait expectantly for the changes to occurrence. Ironically, a lot of times when we're being our most attentive and we feel like change should come because of our intense focus on it, it evades us. Why?

Ever witnessed (or been) a teenager who gets a zit during the most inopportune time, like before a date or before the prom? The teenager stares at the menace in the mirror, telling it to be gone or else … and the darn thing gets bigger overnight! What happened? Why did not listen to the poor teen who needed to be seen blemish-free for an important moment in time?

Focus can be a good thing. If you focus on studies, you can do better on a test. If you focus on the road, you can be a safer driver. If you focus on what you want, you can take steps to get there. But in certain areas, there is such a thing as too much focus to the point where pressure starts to build and you prevent changes from occurring naturally.

Too much focus can turn into a mixture of control and stress. You can start trying to control everything so that things can go your way, but naturally in this world not everything can be controlled. Also, you'll face the loss of not approaching situations as who you are because you're too fixated on the outcome of the change you'd like to see happen. Whether you want more financial freedom, a new job, a slimmer waist, more energy in life, less insomnia, a better diet, more mature communication with those you know, or whatever else …

… it might be worth it to give the changes enough space to breathe too. Change is rebellious, just like teenagers are or life is in general. If you try to control it too much, it can do the opposite of what you want it to do. You want faster, it'll go slower. You want cleaner, it'll go messier. You want smoother, it'll go rougher. Once in a while, if you take even a small step back and let the change happen more naturally, you may see more progress made with less effort from you and your focused mind!

Now, is not that ironic?

Can Depression Be Encoded in Your Energy Field?

According to metaphysical or New Age philosophy every soul upon Earth planned what he or she was going to experience this lifetime. These involve every area of life. There is not one experience a person that was not planned in some way. This includes emotional and mental challenges such as depression. Why would anyone choose to go something as difficult as depression?

Reason for “Negative” Experiences

Everyone has a path or life purpose. Sometimes the individual knows exactly what it is. My dad, from the time he was three, played doctor. Although he detracted from medical school temporarily, after his fifth child was born he went back to complete the studies he needed to enter medical school. His purpose was to be a doctor. Being a doctor, artist, musician or a similar drive is understandable, but why would someone choose before incarnating to be depressed, anxious or ill?

My personal belief is that the issue, be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, gives that particular soul the opportunity to explore ways of handling such things. For instance, some people in severe depression choose suicide. What if suicide is what a soul chose in another lifetime? Now, in this incarnation, the individual wants to explore another option. Does she have the strength to find another way to live? Perhaps the dark hole of his mood spurs a family member to do research to find a solution for all people.

The Dark Night of the Soul

The “dark night” is a spiritual term. The individual undergoing this is lost in a darkness so he or she does not know how survival is possible. His strength is tested as is her faith, her stamina, his commitment to spiritual growth. Many spiritual teachers believe this mood disorder can be relieved by going inside and connecting with All That Is, Higher Power or God. From a soul purpose level, what is seen as an emotional dysfunction is actually a vehicle to move beyond the limited ego to connect with the divine presence which created all.

It is impossible from the limitations of the human person to know what the ultimate purpose is of any experience undergone. This is where faith in something, someone larger than yourself comes in. Those who can not believe in a Source for all, find it difficult to conceive that suffering has any meaning at all. In fact, such a woeful experience may intensify the belief there is no such thing as a love beyond understanding which gives support through existence.

For some, the belief that what is happening has some purpose, even if they do not know what it is, is soothing. Others lose hope even to the point of taking their own life. It is my belief that after the physical body dies the individual will then discover the answer to life's questions. There is no judgment or punishment. There is only experience.

Nursing Philosophy

Nursing is an integration of knowledge, values, and concepts among people, health, and environment. The sole purpose is to form a meaningful relationship between mind, body, and spirit, forming self actualization. A nursing process serves as a compass to a direction most desired using strong critical thinking skills. Yet, if outcomes become undesirable, it can lead to a new direction where learning can occur. Nursing is an ongoing practice of science and art with a purpose of building competency through higher education and communication across the scope of practice.

The decision of choosing a career in nursing does not take place right away. It is motivated by personal experiences and values. The intent is to make a difference in society, one person at a time. It is this intention which fuel nurses to end the challenges of nursing. An open mind and an open heart is a must in order to celebrate its rewards.

Making a difference in a society involves engaging in various roles in the community. Nurses are a collection of caring individuals from a community of diverse cultures. Nurses provide care, educate, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals, ensuring everyone has the same goal towards the care and well being of the patient.

As a culturally diverse group, nurses have respect for humanity. Each person is seen as a unique identity where care is exclusive and equal, regardless of educational background, culture, and socioeconomic status. Ultimately, nurses give respect and at the same time, do not demand, but encourage respect.

Nurses surrender to the idea that life is a journey full of uncertainties. They are not in control of certain things, but nurses learn what they can control. No amount of training can prepare for every crisis life has to offer, but nurses learn to agree and adapt to situations that may arise in their field.

The field of nursing is about people. One person is a simple concept, but a difficult one to define. A nurse's perspective of a person is an integral union of these components – someone with a mind, body, and spirit which are closely related. If one part is compromised, the other part can fall ill.

One body is a part of a family. One family is a part of a community. One community is part of a country, and one country is a part of the world. Taking all these into consideration, nurses play a fundamental responsibility of meeting basic and complex human needs from the beginning of one's birth to ensuring a peaceful death during the end of life process.

Each person is bound with moral values and beliefs which can affect their outlook in life and their health habits. As nurses care for divers numbers of individuals, values from both sides can either intertwine or be at odds. With this in mind, nurses are in a position to put their own values to the side and insinuate a distinct approach of care suited for the person in need. This critical approach can serve as a critical link to the person's ability to interact with the world, and at the same time, maintaining good health.

Health, like a person is a simple concept but a difficult one to describe. Many had attempted to define health and the list still goes on. Health can be seen in a holistic point of view. Being healthy is a harmony of the mind, body, and soul. One can remain healthy because of the ability to effectively cope and adapt. Coping by taking charge of their health and adapting by doing what they need to do. An effective coping mechanism can aid a person dictate the body to move in the positive direction. As a result, it gives a person the “spirit” to go on.

It sees as if many may take health for granted. A reality that life is limited for each and everyone may not fully realized. Health care is one way in which a person can live life to the greatest margin. It is important to understand that each person is responsible for their own health.

This recognition may not come easy, but reality has a unique way of presenting itself. For many stricken with chronic illnesses, healthy and non-healthy habits will evolve as they go through life. Nurses can help a person analyze their own strengths through the therapeutic communication and start building upon it. As a result, a person who analyze themselves and their actions will come to realize that all they have, or ever will have, depends upon their health and their ability to interact with the environment around them.

Environment, as it has been endlessly discussed, is in the running with heredity as one of the major factors that helps to mold a person, to make them “who they are '. So, it follows that environment can have a huge impact on someone when trying to access an illness. But different people may require different environments for personal or cultural reasons. Nurses, as cultural ambassadors can guide patients as they maneuver through an intricate societal web. .

Nursing is an empathetic heart, a sincere touch, listening, and advocating. It can not be measured in terms of an educational degree. It is only measured in the scale of one's humanity to others. Nurses are critical thinkers. They use knowledge, competence, organizational skills, and flexibility. Personal and professional values are formed, learned, and chosen. Bringing to light strengths and weaknesses.

Nursing is a religion. A religion of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Nursing is not only a livelihood, but it is life.

Is a Rigid Mind Ingrained or Just an Emotional Phenomenon?

On many occasions my wife had tried to compel me to join suite on ideas she garnered from a variety of sources such as romantic movies.

Recently she had said: 'that actor screw his wife up in the air, how about you throwing me up in the air?' That got me scratching my head again: Why do some people subsume everything they hear or see while others do the opposite; prune information to a logical conclusion? Adults who have the first mindset of adopting everything they hear are not obeying Piaget theory of cognition which expects transition from a concrete rigid thought to a thawed analytical thinking and abstraction, beginning from early adolescence. Grownups with the later mindset of sifting general opinions down to a sensible level are in a different plane from their first counterparts.

Rigidity of mind is when one's mind is stuck in a particular mindset and plane. This is not about being stuck in a particular mindset as a result of mental illness or organic brain injury. Rigidity of mind could be passing, prolonged or permanent. There are empirical reasons to hypothesize that people could well be born and wired into different planes of minds in the same fashion that some of us are born right-handed while others are born left-handed. Age, gender, exposure and experience factors do not seem to completely explain this rigid mindset phenomenon. The liberals are born stuck in the liberal plane while the preservatives are born stuck in the conservative plane.

The brain's ability to analyze sensation: smell, taste, touch, sight, hearing —- and arrive at the best available response is material and based upon local brain tissue physiological changes and gross neural impulsive trajectory in the brain with integrations and relay across an array of adjoining central nervous system players.

It is hard to say whether non pathological rigidity of mind is a distinct biological symptom worthy of further delineation, because even when there may have been a prior mental catalyst to it the result is probably similar; chemical changes in the brain tissue involved and a substantive rerouting of the brain thought process to the subjects existing plane of mind.

What is indisputable though is that consensus is never reached when there is no intersection of opinions and ideas between officials and among the public. Stalemate on issues such as gun violence, abortion rights, immigration reform and fiscal debt crises are some of the tragedies of the rigid mind malady.

The Positive Economic Impact of Preemptive Healthcare

The concept of preemptive healthcare is becoming increasingly prominent as we continue to move towards a more health-conscious society. Between the aging population, the obesity epidemic and the convenience and affordability of less-healthy food options, the country's healthcare system is facing heavy burdens. Outside the realm of healthcare, a healthy population is a more productive population, and that translates into economic benefits for everyone.

Preemptive healthcare includes many proactive, healthy choices that you can make in your daily life. It means eating better and exercising more to keep your weight in check and decrease your chances of developing a medical condition that will require emergency or ongoing treatment. It means quitting smoking so you do not spend your last years of life hooked up to tubes, unable to leave the confines of an around-the-clock clinic. It means taking deliberate and informed steps to reduce your risk for serious, chronic and potentially fatal diseases.

Study after study has shown that obesity is closely linked to a long list of morbidities and chronic health conditions. Those who are overweight are at increased risk for cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, osteoarthritis, asthma and many forms of cancer. Imagine the burden that could have been removed from the nation's healthcare network if preemptive interventions reduced the prevalence of obesity and prevented millions of people from developing these conditions! What's more is that a population that smokes less, eats well and exercises more is healthy in mind as well as body.

The economic impact of healthy living stretches far beyond reducing the cost of providing healthcare to those in need. Healthier people make greater contributions to the economy, by missing fewer days at work and remaining productive through later stages of life. This creates a more prosperous country for everyone to enjoy, proof that the benefits of healthy living are about more than just you.

Another of the many benefits of healthy eating is that you can support local economies. By buying fresher, locally grown foods, you will provide a much-needed boost to regional farmers and help foster sustainable economic development.

Preemptive healthcare is a grassroots movement that is geared towards people in all stages of life. A great deal of attention is being paid to raising a healthy, more active generation of children, but it's never too late to make positive changes for better health. You'll be serving your own good as well as the greater good.

We all know how to be healthier: eat better, cut out unhealthy habits and exercise regularly. However, putting together a plan that works for you is not always easy. Good health is a marathon, not a sprint, and many people get frustrated and give up before they have a chance to see positive results, and that's due in large part to a lack of guidance and proper planning.

A life coach provides you with the motivation and direction you need to create a plan for healthy living that you can stick to. Good health is as much a product of mind and spirit as it is of body, and that's where you'll find a life coach's greatest value lies: in their ability to help you transform your way of thinking into positive improvements in every aspect of your life.

Have the Life You Want – Or, At Least, the Life You’ve Chosen

In life, many things are beyond our control. Upturns and downturns in the economy, natural disasters, the relativity of Internet signals, traffic jams … many things large and small, important and trivial, are simply out of our hands. One of the keys to happiness is to worry about and focus on only the things you can control, and avoid spending unnecessary emotional and psychological energy on things you can not .

When you focus on the things you can control, you will quickly see that the choices you make form the backbone of your own involvement in the shape of your future. You choose who you keep company with. You choose whether you have fried chicken or a salad for lunch. You choose what you do for a career. You chose how to spend your money. These things are all under your control, and making the wrong choices can lead to personal, professional and financial dissatisfaction.

A lot of people make choices far more complicated than they really are. If there are people in your life who are holding you back from pursuing what you want to pursue or becoming what you want to become, then limiting their influence on you is something that will have to happen if you're going to get where you want to go. If your health or weight is not where you want it to be, choosing to invest your time and effort in following a healthy diet and getting regular exercise is something you'll have to do. If you're not happy with your job, remember: you're not stuck in it. If you're not where you want to be financially, you have two choices: earn more or spend less.

Learning to make better choices is an acquired skill, just like any other. Most people are aware that they have choices at their disposal, choices that can help them work towards positive change. They just do not have the plan they need to build toward that change, day by day and choice by choice. That's what can make changing your life seem so overwhelming. You have an idea of where you'd rather be, but you have no idea how to get there.

The first choice you need to make is to commit to self-improvement. Recognize that every choice you make should be a positive choice for you, one that helps you progress towards your goals and exceed the people and things standing in your way. In other cases, especially in the realm of career choices, people are standing in their own way. They'll tell them it's too late to pursue a new career, that things will get better, that they're lucky to be where they are, or that they're already arriving at the best place they're going to get .. even if they do not really believe it.

Change can be scary. In fact, many people will do whatever they can to avoid change. But that too too is a choice, and all too often, it's a choice that leads now.

If you want to build a more fulfilling personal life, enjoy a more rewarding career, become healthier and fitter or realize your full potential, you need a plan to achieve it. Forming a plan requires an understanding of what it is you're really after in life, what you need to do to get it and what's standing in your way. Most of all, you need to understand the power of your life choices, and recognize that every positive choice you make brings you closer to your goals.

This is where a life coach becomes an invaluable ally. A life coach can help you form your life plan and build towards fulfilling it step-by-step. You will learn how to make better choices, where to invest your effort and how to overcome the challenges you will face along the way. Life is not easy, least of all when you try to go it alone. A good life coach is your friend, your mentor and your guide to greater happiness and deeper personal, emotional and professional fulfillment.

Subliminal Audio for Health and Stress Relief

Stress is a major component of many chronic health problems. Research has confirmed its negative effects on many diseases. Stress increases cortisone output which impairs immune function, elevates heart rate and blood pressure, and affects hormone balances. Nervousness, anxiety, worry, fear, and other forms of stress rob us of valuable mental energy.

Setting aside time daily to relax is vital to achieving and maintaining excellent health. The calming sounds of nature have been proven to aid in relaxation and stress reduction. When combined with subliminal healing messages, the relaxing sounds of nature become a double threat against stress and its effects.

You can play subliminal audio CDs in your computer CD drive, home stereo system, or personal CD player. Listen while you drift off to sleep, while reading, or any time you want to be transported away to a tranquil natural setting.

As you listened to the relaxing sounds of nature (eg ocean waves), positive health statements are delivered subliminally to your subconscious mind (just below the level of conscious awareness). Though your conscious mind will not hear any messages, your subconscious mind will not miss a word.

Consider using subliminal audio to reduce stress and promote healing. Effortlessly you will reap the wealth of health benefits from positive affirmations as they are very delivered to your willing subconscious.

Just as negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions can make and keep you sick, positive thoughts can heal and help to maintain health. Science has discovered several connections that appear to give the brain immunity influence over the body regarding wellness and vitality.

Every cell in your body communicates with you and with other cells constantly through your thoughts. For example, when a patient is given a terminal diagnosis by her or his doctor, how it is perceived is communicated to the body's cells. If the cells perceive the individual has given up, the cells also give up and stop fighting. Consequently, the immune system becomes inefficient, and begins preparing the body for death.

In contrast, there are many cases of individuals who have access to all odds because they have refused to surrender to physical illness, and have used strong positive thoughts and visualization to help their cells fight off disease. A positive attitude puts all the cells on notice that perfection is expected in the functioning of your body. Positive cellular communication is vitally important. The effects of positive thinking are very real.

Training your mind with positive affirmations, subliminally, permits them to reach the subconscious without interference or modification from the conscious mind. This is important because the conscious mind will question or reject certain statements that it knows may not be present true. At the subconscious level, there is no reasonability ability; therefore, no filtering potential. Positive healing messages, delivered directly to the subconscious mind, can quickly become reality.

You must create change at a subconscious level, if you want to make lasting improvements in your life. Subliminal healing audio CDs can be valuable tool to help promote and maintain good health, by providing stress relief and relaxation, while delivering positive messages of healing and well-being directly into you subconscious mind.

Make “Subliminal Strategies” a part of your diet, nutritional supplement, and exercise plan for optimum health.

Perk Up From the ‘Winter Blahs’ With Some Cost-Effective Vitality Tips!

The winter doldrums can produce a lot of extra stress. We may have financial stress as we figure out how to pay for all that extra holiday spending or how to fund a much-needed winter get-away. It is also suspected that a reduced amount of sunlight through the winter months can lead to problems with sleep and symptoms of depression (as noted by Lucy Cockcroft in The Telegraph article on Sept 2, 2008). On top of all of this, our daily routines are a bit more cumbersome in the winter weather so that maybe we forget to catch those important brief pauses we need to recharge our bodies, minds and spirits.

No-cost ways to re-charge

We often lose sight of the fact that the things that make us feel the best in life are generally free. So below is a list of some of the simple things we can do to deal with the negative effects of winter without putting additional demands on our resources. These ideas, even in small, quick doses, can make us feel fantastic. Even better, they are absolutely free !!!

Vitality Tip # 1: Breath

Breath is the essence of life and vitality because it helps to maintain the balance balance between oxygen and carbon dioxide in our body. Using breath and breathing to recharge yourself can be as simple as closing your eyes and focusing on the air going on and the air going out just a couple of times. Whenever I am feeling particularly stressed or overwhelmed, I find it grounding to remember that no matter what else is going on, if I am still breathing, everything is really OK!

Vitality Tip # 2: Warmth

There is a very good biological reason why staying warm so soothing. When your body temperature drops, your body has to work harder to bring up your body temperature, so by keeping warm and comfortable we actually conserve energy so our bodies can take care of other important activities like fighting infection. Enjoy the relaxing benefits of warmth by drinking a hot beverage, taking a warm bath, wrapping up your favorite sweater or blanket, or snuggling with your sweetheart!

Vitality Tip # 3: Listening

Effective listening is the lifeblood of the relationshipships we have with others and with ourselves. When we are listened to, we feel valued. So listening in to our own needs becomes a great way for us to show a little self-respect! Now, listening to yourself may sound like a crazy activity, but suspend your judgment and give it a try. Think about how you might listen to someone else. Stop other activities and remove yourself from any environmental distractions so you can focus. Then, try quieting your mind from its ongoing thoughts and judgments. Quieting your judgments is often the hardest part, but if you can get into this quiet space, your true feelings, and the reason for them, often surfaces and gives you a great opportunity to confront the real issue.

Vitality Tip # 4: Gratitude

Recent academic studies have begun to establish links between the practice of gratitude thinking and noted improvements in a person's emotional, interpersonal and even physical well-being (as noted by John Tierny in a New York Times Science article published on November 21, 2011.) Here are a couple of things you can do to enhance your own gratitude thinking: try keeping a gratitude journal and note three to five things you are thankful for each day; once a week, acknowledge a kindness that has been shown to you by sending a quick thank you note; right before you go to sleep at night take a moment to reflect on one thing that went your way during the day.

Vitality Tip # 5: Stretching

Cats really get this one! Stretching is a very simple and relatively effortless way to rejuvenate our bodies throughout the day mainly because it reduces muscle tension and increases blood circulation in the body. While it's great if you can formalize your stretching activity by taking a stretch or yoga class once or twice a week, getting some benefit out of stretching really takes whole lot less effort. At any point through the day you can pause, raise your shoulders towards your ears, then release. You can slowly turn your head from side-to-side and then slowly drop your chin to chest and then tilt your head back. And, if you do not mind looking a bit conspicuous, stand up, and raise your hands over your head while taking a deep breath; hold the breath and pull your hands gently toward the ceiling; then drop your arms while releasing the breath. But you know what feels good; the important thing is to take a pause here and there during your day to re-energize with a stretch!

Vitality Tip # 6: Light

Light is used cross-culturally in celebration and in various religious and spiritual rituals to punctuate our connectedness. Light is also an important metaphor for enlightenment and enhanced awareness because of its ability to convey to us information about the physical world around us.Take a quiet moment to enjoy the spirit of connectedness and enlightenment within a flickering candle or in a warm fire-light .

Here Are A Few Solutions to Test Your PH Level

Mild fluctuations inside your body's pH level are routine, that is why you need to use one of many ways available to check your pH level to gain a clear idea of your overall health.

Just like a pool, your body is constructed of water so it is important for you to keep a well-balanced pH and the best way to do so is by determining the status of your system's pH.

By monitoring your pH level over a period of time, you'll be able to note any patterns of acidity or alkalinity levels within your body and so you know you need to find a remedy to improve this imbalance. Should you be looking for methods to test your pH level, here are three ways to start testing it.

# 1: Take a Blood Test

Probably the most efficient way to find out what your pH level is taking a blood sample test from a physician. The phlebologist then conducts a live cell microscopy to obtain your system's pH level. The blood of a healthy human being is supposed to maintain a pH level ranging from 7.35 to 7.45. Any value below or over this range may have a detrimental impact on your health.

Although choosing a blood test is the most accurate way to determine your pH, it can be an expensive and time-consuming activity. Thus, it is not the best choice if you are planning to observe your pH level over a given time period.

Option # 2 is: Measure your Saliva

Our recommendation is that you complete the saliva test each morning immediately after getting up and before eating anything or brushing your teeth. Begin with swallowing all of the saliva in your mouth. Now draft fresh saliva and swallow. Do this two more times as you prepare your plastic or paper strip. When you draw-up saliva for your third time, spit it on the strip and immediately pay attention to the color of the strip and its particular value (intensity) on the color chart, matching these colors will help you to discover the pH value.

As indicated by medical professionals, the optimum saliva pH after awakening should range between 6.2 to 6.8. This value then moves up towards alkaline levels of (seven.two to seven.four) in daytime. The one down side to this method is that saliva's pH can be altered by the meal you had had ahead of the test. Which is the main reason you need to make sure to do the test first thing. It also needs to be noted that even though the paper strip is not toxic, it is advisable to never put it in your mouth.

Finally: Do a Urine Test

The urine test is probably one of the best ways to find out your pH level specifically if you require a certain accurate reading. Upon awakening, and you are headed for your first “short-call” of the day, wait until you are halfway done then quickly wet your pH test strip (paper or plastic) in the stream of urine and immediately compare the color on the strip to the color on the pH color chart.

To get accurate results, your observation speed can play a big role. This is due pHydrion (the compound used to create the test paper strips) improvements evaporation and if you delay, the color may change resulting in biased results. The optimum urine pH should include 6.2 and 6.8.

In conclusion, you must understand that taking only one pH test is not enough to conclude what ones' body's pH level is. Various factors such as stress, the food you eat, and also your day to day activities affect your pH levels. Therefore, it is advisable to use any of the aforementioned methods to test your pH level. You should test several times each day for at least 4 days just to make certain.

The Human Energy Field and Emotional Issues

The human energy field has various components. Each of these relate to a specific area of life. Balancing these structures can facilitate healing in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual areas of life. Below are parts of the human energy field and areas of life affected by them.

The human aura and the chakras

The aura is an energy field which, when healthy is an egg shape. Although it has many layers, the ones spoken of the most are the first seven. Each of the layers is related specifically to one of the seven chakras. The health of the chakra determines to an extent the integrity of the specific layer of the aura. The energy healing practitioner works with the aura and chakras freeing the energy. This can produce relaxation and the relief of various emotional, mental and physical discomforts.

The emotional centers of the body

Consider the expression, “Kicked in the gut.” This description refers to experiencing an event which produces a feeling of weakness in the body. A number of years ago I was called to the phone for an emergency call. (This was well before cell phones.) I was informed that a dear friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was standing at the time. My knees literally buckled beneath me and I had to catch myself or I would have fallen. I was “kicked in the gut” by the news. This affected the emotional center where fear is often located, the solar plexus or third chakra.

Another area of the body affected by emotion is the heart. When someone experiences a tragedy, as in the death or serious illness or injury of a loved one, a descriptive phrase is “my heart hurt.” Some people experience physical pain in their chest. This is referred to as the fourth area.

Everyone has had the experience of a “frog in the throat.” This usually occurs when the person is having a difficult time saying something. The throat tightens up making it difficult to speak without “croaking.” This center, the fifth, often tightens up when trying to say something in times of fear.

Think about what happens when you are trying to absorb tremendous amounts of new information. This can happen at trainings when learning new material. Many people literally get a headache. You are trying to absorb so much information that your head feels like it's going to explode. You just can not take in anymore and feel overwhelmed. This is called the third eye area.

Anyone who has had sexual feelings is familiar with the tingling and pressure which can develop in the groin area. This area is another emotional center, the second, having to do with sexuality and sexual feelings. It is also about our sense of power in our outside world which includes finances.

The spiritual center, the seventh is at the top of the head. This is where you have your connection to the Divine. Some people feel a tightness at the top of their head when they are growing and developing spiritually.

At the opposite end of the body is the first chakra. When dealing with family issues you may experience experience tightness in the area around your tailbone. If you are having difficulty with family issues you might have difficulty being stable on your feet.

The aura

Each of these areas contributes to the egg-shaped energy which surrounds the body. Emotions can become lodged in the aura. The energy practitioner can smooth the “bumps and bruises” from the aura assisting in enabling the person to relax and release pent up emotion.
